A Tribute to Eths

Today, we want to talk about a huge inspiration behind Broken Dolls and one of the bands that truly fueled our fire: the French metal band Eths and their iconic album Soma. If you know, you know – Candice’s vocals and the raw, aggressive energy she brings to every track are just next level. For us, Soma is more than just music; it’s a masterclass in intensity, darkness, and unapologetic self-expression.

Our own French guitarist, Lisa, is the one who brought Soma into our world. She introduced us to Eths one night, and we’ve been obsessed ever since. Eths isn’t just brutal riffs and killer screams (although there’s plenty of that!) – they create this atmosphere that’s haunting and brutally honest, and you feel every ounce of Candice’s voice. That’s what we wanted to channel in Broken Dolls – that mix of beauty and rawness, of something broken but powerful.

Candice’s fearless approach to vocals, her grit, and the emotional depth she brings to every word made Soma a massive influence on Broken Dolls upcoming tracks like “Broken Doll”, “Why” and “Stitch By Stitch”. We wanted to capture that same rawness, the way she digs deep and lets it all out. She showed us that metal isn’t just about rage; it’s about digging into the darkest parts of ourselves and owning them.

So this one’s for Eths, for Candice, and for every fan who knows what it’s like to find strength in heavy music. If you haven’t listened to Soma yet, do yourself a favor – it’s a journey worth taking. Thank you, Eths, for showing us how powerful, gritty, and real metal can be.
